Swimming Pool Sculpture Art Space at Roubaix’s André Dilley Museum
Description
Located in Roubaix, a suburb of Lille in France, the André Dilley Museum is an art palace transformed from a century-old swimming pool. The original pool channels remain in the center of the interior, with dozens of white marble sculptures and black bronze statues displayed symmetrically on both sides. These human sculptures feature diverse postures, fully showcasing the elegance and strength of classical art. The arched dome is complemented by a large glass skylight; warm yellow light filters through the skylight and spills across the space, casting a soft glow. The two-story corridor, with wooden floors and white metal railings, is arranged in an orderly yet varied manner. The retro swimming pool structure blends seamlessly with modern art exhibitions. Boasting smooth, elegant lines and a rich artistic atmosphere, the museum is a cultural tourism landmark that combines historical texture and artistic allure.
